Very British and very cosy, Rhys Bowen presents Her Royal Spy

New York Times bestselling author Rhys Bowen has been nominated for every major crime fiction award and has won many, including the Agatha and Anthony Awards.

Rhys Bowen presents Her Royal Spy

Her books include the Her Royal Spy series, set in 1930s London, the Molly Murphy Mysteries, set in early 20th-century New York, and the Constable Evans Mysteries, set in Wales. She was born in England and now divides her time between Northern California and Arizona.

We particularly liked Her Royal Spy and the Queen's Necklace, a cosy mystery as we like them, to be enjoyed with a good cup of tea.

The story

London, 1933.

The Queen has just entrusted our favourite heiress with a new mission: to go in search of her precious snuffbox, stolen on the chic and hedonistic Côte d'Azur.

Georgie, already overwhelmed by the trust placed in her by Her Majesty, is pleasantly surprised to see Coco Chanel herself offering to model her latest creations! During the show, however, things go horribly wrong: the priceless necklace she is wearing, which also belongs to the Queen, is stolen. Shortly afterwards, a man is found murdered!

With two robberies on her hands and a murderer on the loose, Georgie doesn't have much time to enjoy the casino...

Somewhere between Downton Abbey and Miss Marple, this series of royal investigations is so British!
